About Me

 Welcome to my home page!

Following his graduation from the University of California at Berkeley with a BA in Sociology in 1972, Kirk began his business career. He has owned and operated several successful businesses in California and Hawaii.

Kirk transferred his management and business experience to Hawaii in 1979 and began his career in financial services in 1989. He has obtained his CFP® certification as well as earning the LUTCF (Life Underwriting Training Council Fellowship), CLU® (Chartered Life Underwriter), his ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant) and CLTC (Certification in Long Term Care) designations.

Kirk is also a member of the Honolulu Chapter of the Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Financial Planning Association of Hawaii, the Hawaii Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals and a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).

Kirk's diverse experience has led him to become a financial professional focusing on Special Needs Planning, helping families with dependents with special needs plan for the future as well as retirement strategies, business continuation strategies and life insurance.

Special needs planning not only entails financial planning for the entire family, but also helps parents with special needs dependents answer the questions:

  • Who will take care of my child when I can't?
  • How will they have a good quality of life?
  • Will they be able to have government benefit eligibility?

This is an ongoing process, as not only may our financial and physical environment change, but family circumstances and federal and state laws (that affect your special needs dependent) may change as well.  Therefore, it is important to keep your plan up to date by reviewing it every year or as your circumstances warrant.

He is a past Vice President for the Hawaii chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a member and on the board of directors of the Arc in Hawaii, a member of the Hawaii Down Congress, the Autism Society of Hawaii and a LUTC (Life Underwriters Training Council) moderator, teaching continuing education and industry related classes to agents and financial professionals in the community.

Kirk works with his clients to help them determine where they stand now with regard to developing a strategy that will help them to achieve their financial objectives.
